KUCHING: Two women lost their lives in a road accident at Mile 11 Jalan Kuching-Serian Road early yesterday morning after the motorcycle they were travelling on collided with a car.

One of the deceased was identified as Audrey Kymberlee Patrick, 28, of Kampung Sungai Duuh, Siburan. The identity of the pillion rider had yet to be determined.

State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department deputy chief DSP Bingkok John said the incident took place around 4.15am when both women were travelling in the direction of the city.

“Their motorcycle was involved in a collision with a sedan travelling in the opposite direction.

“Both victims died at the scene of the crash, while the 27-year-old female car driver was unhurt,” he said when contacted.

According to Bingkok, no personal identification documents were found on either of the deceased, but police were able to establish Audrey’s identity after her family members arrived at Sarawak General Hospital.

He noted that investigation is ongoing under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
