Wife of Indonesian consul-general passes away

KUCHING: Visitors arrived in mourning garb at Wisma Indonesia this morning to pay the last respects to the late Consul General of Republic to Indonesia Jahar Gultom’s wife Loriana Sinaga.

She leaves behind her husband and two children, Josia Ruben, 17, and Marina Kezia, 13.

She passed away yesterday at 5.04pm at Normah Medical Specialist Centre. She was admitted into the ICU on Tuesday unconscious and passed away without regaining consciousness. She has been ill for the past few years before her health deteriorated.

Her remains will be flown to Kuala Lumpur on transit tomorrow morning before transferring to Medan at 2.55pm. From there, it will be on land transport to Samosir Island on Lake Toba.

The family are Protestant Christians, speaking the Batak dialect.

Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg is expected to pay a visit at 12pm.
