SIBU: Nazario FC edged TZ FC 2-1 at Stadium Tun Zaidi here last Saturday to lift the Sibu FA Cup and collect RM5,000 in prize money.
Nazario FC’s Mohammad Ainil Azmil scored twice while TZ FC pulled back one through Saufan Kuheng.
Mohammad Ainil was later named the best player while Muhammad Irwan Che Alang from Cincau Susu (which finished third) was tournament top scorer with 11 goals.
Sibu Division FA president Dr Kamaruddin Ahmad Junaidi presented the prizes.
The tournament which started in May this year attracted 15 teams, including a team each from Kuching and Bintangor.
Matches were played in two locations, namely Prison Field and Stadium Tun Zaidi here.
The tournament was organised by Sibu Division Football Association.
