PM praises BNM for good management of international reserves

KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) international reserves, currently at US$100.4 billon (US$1=RM4.28), reflects the central bank’s management capabilities, said Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

“Congratulations on the good management in line with international standards,” he said in his latest tweet.

On Aug 22, BNM announced that the international reserves stood at US$100.4 billion as of Aug 15, compared with US99.4 billion recorded on July 31.

The amount is sufficient to finance 7.9 months of retained imports and 1.1 times short term external debt. — Bernama
