Central zone selects 20 swimmers for Suksar

SIBU: A total of 10 boys and 10 girls have been picked to represent the central zone in swimming for the upcoming Sarawak Games (Suksar).

The boys are Patrick Lau, Toh Aw Zien, Justin Lee, Jordan Ling, Nee Gui Ping, Fung Xing Yan, Ngu Jiung Rong, Kukoc Ung, Lau Teck Lung and Toh Bock Zien.

The girls are Nee Qiao Yuan, Toh Chien Ran, Angel Lau, Adeline Lau, Esther Ngu, Ivy Ning, Emily Wong, Isabelle Tang, Amelia Wong and Toh Ghii Ran.

They were selected after the two-day Suksar swimming time trial at Bukit Lima Swimming Pool over the weekend.

67 swimmers – 23 girls and 44 boys – from eight primary schools, seven secondary schools, one international school and two swimming clubs took part in the trial conducted by Sibu Amateur Swimming Association (Sasa).

Four zones – southern zone which comprises Serian, Samarahan, Kuching; western zone (Sarikei, Sri Aman, Betong); central zone (Sibu, Mukah, Kapit) and northern zone (Miri, Bintulu, Limbang) – will be competing in the 2017 Suksar to be held in Kuching from Dec 14-17.
