Police uncovers a dead infant found in a ditch

BANJARMASIN, S Kalimantan: Police finally uncovered the case of a newborn baby found dead in a ditch in front of Sultan Suriansyah building in Banjarmasin, AntaranewsKalsel reported.

“Finally after a week of investigation in the field, police caught the alleged perpetrator,” said Banjarmasin Police Chief Sr Comr Anjar Wicaksana SIK here on Sunday.

He said the joint force of North Banjarmasin crime detective, South Kalimantan mobile detective, and South Hulu Sungai (HSS) police had caught the person who allegedly threw away the infant.

She was identified as NH (23), the mother of the baby, caught in North Daha, HSS District, with no resistance, Saturday (2/9).

She immediately brought to North Banjarmasin Police station for further examination.

According to Anjar, the case has been uncovered thanked a witness who saw her on the scene. She was there about for hours before the baby found.

“She was seen wearing a cloth and sarong full with blood on the spot. The team then conducted an investigation and got the information that she was in North Daha,” he said.

Meanwhile, the alleged perpetrator confessed she could not withstand the pain till she gave birth to a baby boy not far from a place of a dead baby found still with the umbilical cord.

But her husband told he himself did not know of the accident. His wife told him that she bore a defected baby at a midwife and the baby died.
