See Hua Group dominate sports media awards

KUCHING: See Hua Group made a near clean sweep of the media categories of the Sarawak Sports Awards 2015-2016 at the Riverside Majestic Hotel on Saturday.

Its sister papers The Borneo Post, Utusan Borneo and See Hua Daily won three out of the four categories for the media.

Borneo Post sports reporter Ting Tieng Hee won the Best Sports Writer (English) award while his colleagues Wilfred Pilo and Daryll Law were runners-up.

It was his second award after winning it in 2010.

Utusan Borneo sports reporter Harry Ilias also picked up his second Best Sport Writer (Bahasa Malaysia) award after beating Faizal Bujang from Utusan Sarawak.

Meanwhile, See Hua Daily sports reporter cum photographer Teo Chi Wei beat colleague Helen Tang Harn Ling and The Star’s Zulazhar Sheblee to the Best Sports Photographer award.

The Best Sport Writer (Chinese) award went to Sin Chew Daily’s Sibu branch reporter Hii Hong Wee who beat Tan Chok Bui of United Daily news, Chin Sau Leong of International Times and Chin Yoon Chai of See Hua Daily News.

All the winners received RM2,000, a trophy and certificate.
