KOTA KINABALU: Gerakan Akar Umbi Umno (GAUM) wants the relevant authority to take action against DAP member Jufazli Shi Ahmad for his absurd allegation that the recent fire which destroyed 60 houses at Kampung Titingan in Tawau was masterminded by Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman and Barisan Nasional (BN).

Its president Datuk Zulkarnain Mahdar said: “It is absurd and beyond imagination that he (Jufazli) can accuse Musa and BN for the fire incident in Tawau on Sept 5.

“What’s more shocking is that he claimed that Musa and BN had masterminded the fire.

“What proof do you have and for what reason do you think our chief minister and the BN government would want to destroy people’s homes when we continue to provide for the well-being of the rakyat,” he said yesterday.

According to Zulkarnain, who is also president for Pro-BN (Sabah), reports from the police showed the fire was caused by a drug addict who was chased out from his home for failing to settle his rental.

“We urge the relevant authorities to take legal action against this individual (Jufazli) for his remarks and seditious claim towards our leader.

“We also want the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to bar Jufazli’s Facebook account as we believe it will only cause hatred among the people,” he said after lodging a police report at Karamunsing Police Station here yesterday.

Meanwhile, Zulkarnain is still waiting for action to be taken against Likas Assemblyman Junz Wong over his controversial claim about the alleged robbery at Suria Shopping complex on Jan 6, 2014 where a woman sustained injuries after being robbed and attacked.

After a series of investigation, the woman admitted that the incident never happened and it was a made-up story.

Zulkarnain added that the Attorney General (AG) had informed him that investigation papers against Junz would be completed by this year.

“The AG’s office had on July 16 informed me that investigation papers against Junz Wong that were either submitted by GAUM or other parties will be completed soon, so we will wait for the results and next course of action,” he said.
