BNNP S Kalimantan dismantles drug trafficking controlled from prison

BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: The South Kalimantan Narcotics Agency (BNNP) has dismantled billions of rupiah worth of drug trafficking which is controlled from within the IIA Banjarmasin prison, AntaranewsKalsel reported.

“We nabbed three perpetrators in a large network of drug trafficking in South Kalimantan, one of them in Banjarmasin Prison,” said Head of South Kalimantan’s BNNP Brigadier General Drs Marsauli Siregar SH here, Friday.

The disclosure of the network stems from information that there is a prisoner who controls the circulation of quite large drugs. Then the officer found a name as an accomplice outside, Ahmad Apriansyah aka Yayan (39).

On Tuesday (3/10), BNNP eradication officers managed to monitor Yayan delivering a drug to customers.

After being followed up to Jalan Dharmawangsa, Beruntung Jaya Housing Complex, the perpetrator was ambushed and 10 grams of sabu-sabu found.

In the interrogation, the suspect claimed to still keep the sabu-sabu at his house Jalan Pemurus, Purnama II Housing Complex, Kertak Hanyar, Banjar District, as many as 18 packages weighing 1.184 grams.

If it is assumed that one gram of sabu-sabu is currently worth Rp1,500,000, then the evidence is worth Rp1,7 billion.

After securing Yayan, officers immediately arrested Arie Setiawan (27) around Lambung Mangkurat Stadium Jalan Ahmad Yani Km 5 Banjarmasin.

“From the arrest of the two suspects, we can confirm Andre Fahmi alias Cuan (39) who languished in prison as the controller’s brain and immediately picked up with the help of prison officers,” said Marsauli accompanied by Head of Eradication AKBP Edy Saprianadi.

Until now BNNP officers are still trying to reveal the origin of the goods and how the perpetrators smuggle into Banjarmasin.

“We will ask the help of IT experts to be able to translate their mobile communications over the years,” he said.
