Sarawak pick up first gold at National Wushu Championships

PENANG: Sarawak kicked off their campaign in the National Wushu Championships at Tunku Abdul Rahman College with one gold, three silver and five bronze medals.

The solitary gold was won by Bong Yun En in the traditional taijiquan.

In tuishou, which fielded only three representatives, Sarawak are ensured of a silver and a bronze.

Su Chung Ung made it to the men’s 90kg final while Kon Chee Kiong will be fighting for third place in the men’s 80kg.

Although Anthony Lee Wen Ming lost two matches in the men’s 75kg category, he still have a chance of getting a medal provided he wins the last two matches in the five-contestant field today.
