Six youngsters to represent Sarawak in national petanque Championship

BINTULU: Four players in the Youth Singles and two in the Youth Shooting categories have been selected to represent Sarawak in the Malaysian Youth Inter-State Petanque Championship to be held at the Kuala Lumpur Petanque Arena from Oct 14 to 15.

The quartet comprised Muhammad Hafsyam Mohamad Saudi, Ahmad Zaim Zen, Alif Zayo Zen and Mohd Zakir Zul while the duo are Amir Zahin Zen and Mohd Zulkernain Zaidil.

Ahmad Zaim Zen emerged champion in the Youth Singles at the recent state-level Youth Petanque championship held at Bintulu Maksak petanque court.

Prizes were given out by Malaysian Petanque Federation deputy president cum Sarawak Petanque Association (Pepsar) president Othman Mat.

Also present at the ceremony were Pepsar secretary Janudin Ab Rahman cum organising chairman, arbiter chief Asri Termizi and Sibu Petanque Association president ASP Zamani Mohd.

Meanwhile, Janudin announced that Pepsar, in collaboration with the Sarawak Sports Council, will organise a Sports Science Level 1 Course at the meeting room of Saratok District Council from Oct 17-21 which has attracted 60 participants.

The course is also supported by the National Coaching Academic and National Sports Institute.
