KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre (MaGIC) hopes the 2018 Budget will include adequate funds to support the national push for an impact-driven enterprise (IDE) sector that is self-sustaining, equitable and people-centric.

In a statement yesterday, MaGIC said it hoped more government agencies and other public sector players would take an active role in its social procurement programme, which addressed critical community issues and support the nation’s goal of inclusive economic growth in Malaysia.

For 2018, MaGIC said it aimed at enabling and supporting the sustainable growth of entrepreneurship in the country as a new value creator and an inclusive economic growth driver for Malaysia.

A big focus would be to expand the reach of its programmes and platforms so more aspiring Malaysian entrepreneurs are well equipped with the necessary skills and capabilities to start building their business, it said.

“We want to build entrepreneurs who are ready to face future challenges, create disruption in their sector, and drive positive change in our ecosystem,” it said.
