SIBU: The closing date for ‘Run 4 U’ charity run on Oct 15 has been extended to Oct 31 to enable more people to join.
The run is jointly organised by the Lions Club of Sibu City and Medan Unicity Sibu with the aim of raising RM50,000 for charity.
It will take place at the Medan Unicity compound at 6.30am on Nov 26.
Club president Vivian Ngu said the proceeds from the run will go towards helping the needy, such as the Destiny For Children Association Sibu.
She told a press conference yesterday that some 500 runners have registered, a far cry from the 1,000 target.
With her at the press conference were Medan Mall marketing executive Hwong Yew Yiing and Destiny For Children Association president Chris Tang.
According to Vivian, the run is a team event, and each team must have a minimum of 10 runners.
It is divided into two categories – 5km Run and 9km Run.
Registration fees are RM50 per person for the 5km Run and RM70 for the 9km Run.
