SARIKEI: Sports and co-curricular activities are integral parts of education and must be given serious attention by students.

Sarikei Resident Mohd Junaidi Mohidin said this when officiating at SMK St Anthony’s Co-curriculum and Sports Excellent Awards presentation ceremony yesterday.

“Participating in sports helps us to strengthen our mentality, competitiveness and team spirit. It can develop our leadership skills,” he said, adding that it also contributes to health.

“ At times,  students involvement in sports could be a determining  factor in picking the best among the best in academics,” he said.

Junaidi, who is advisor to the school’s Ex-Students Association, advised the students to allocate reasonable amount of their time for sports.
