SRI AMAN: The Civil Defence Force (APM) here came to the rescue of a stray dog trapped on the awning of a dormitory for trainee nurses at Jalan Sabu yesterday morning.

APM Sri Aman officer Siti Huzaimah Ibrahim said the department was informed of the matter by a member of the public around 11.38am, and promptly dispatched three personnel to the scene. “Upon reaching the location, we saw a stray dog trapped on the awning of a two-storey building.

“We took roughly six minutes to rescue the canine and bring it down safely,” she said.

Siti Huzaimah added it was unclear how the dog found its way to the awning, but that residents in the area had reported frequently seeing the canine in the building’s compound.
