KUCHING: The Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) is now optimistic that their appeal to obtain the license from Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP) for next season’s Malaysia League will be accepted.

FAS secretary general Razali Dolhan told The Borneo Post yesterday that they have been going all out last week to fulfil all the requirements demanded by Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).

“We submitted it before 12 today, by hand – submitted by the FAS licensing officer, Abang Abdul Rahman Abang Naim,” Razali said, stressing that they have submitted a complete set of documents as requested by FAM.

On the controversial financial report that FAS was unable to obtain, Razali explained that there are other options available to justify their case such as the management financial report.

“We are not applying for loan. We have tried our best to fulfil the terms and condition, and is hoping for flexibility on the part of FAM,” he added.

On the alleged debt with Social Security Organisation (SOCSO), Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and Inland Revenue Board (IRB), Razali said all relevant letters from all the agencies were attached.

“Based on what we have submitted this time, it is highly unlikely that we are going to fail again unless they are not happy with our explanation or the conditions have changed, or something new cropping up, because can change from time to time,” he added.

“We have gone all out, work around the clock since the whole of last week, getting all the requirement fulfilled, the management financial report and all the agencies document,” he added.

The Borneo Post tried but was unable to contact FAM secretary general Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin for his comment. FAM public relations officer Wan Fakhrul, when contacted, stressed that he cannot communicate with the press as only Hamidin can do so.
