MIRI: The Miri FA team coasted to a comfortable 3-1 victory over Mukah FC in their Group C second leg match of Liga Bolasepak Rakyat (LBR) in Mukah last Saturday.

Miri head coach Mohd Hakimi Man said the win further boosted his team’s confidence and determination to earn top spot in the group.

“We have two more matches and our focus is to win Group C and qualify for the next level,” he told The Borneo Post.

Scorers for Miri were Fadhlur Rahman (27th min), Mahadi Razak (82nd min) and Shahrul Abdul Malek (91st min) while Abdul Salam Saibi netted for Mukah in the 43rd min.

While somewhat disappointed that his players squandered many goal opportunities during the match, Hakimi prefers to look further ahead.

“We are exclusively aiming to become the champion in Group C,” he said.

But even that is only the first stage as the team is actually aiming to become the Sarawak Zone and Borneo Zone champion in the national 4th tier league.
