Police shoots a half kg crystal meth dealer

BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: The South Kalimantan Police’s Directorate of Drug Investigation acted decisively by shooting a dealer of half kilogram sabu-sabu (crystal meth), AntaranewsKalsel reported.

“The perpetrators tried to escape, we were forced to paralyze him with a shot in the foot,” said Head of Sub-Directorate of Police Drug Detective Comr Ugeng Sudia Permana in Banjarmasin on Monday.

MH (38), who felt the hot lead from firearms was arrested on Friday (13/10) at around 19.30 pm during a drug transaction in the back of a shoe shop on Jalan Veteran, East Banjarmasin.

Officers who disguised as buyers seized five packets of sabu-sabu with a total weight of 509.4 grams.

Ugeng said MH is subjected to Article 114 Paragraph (2) Subs Article 112 Paragraph (2) of Law Number 35/2009 on Narcotics. He may be put in jail for 20 years or face the death penalty.

He said the firm action by shooting drug dealer was instructed by the Director of Drugs Detective (Ditresnarkoba) of South Kalimantan Police Sr Comr Muhammad Firman.

Previously the police also arrested a suspect, MA (36), who circulated nearly 300 grams of sabu-sabu. He was also paralyzed with a shot on foot by members of the Ditresnarkoba.
