KOTA KINABALU: Federal ministers from Sabah have further strengthened the state-central government ties and enabled more people-centric developments to be implemented in Sabah, said Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman.

Besides playing an important role in the country’s progress, the key federal ministers from Sabah are also aware of their responsibilities to Sabahans who have chosen them to be their state representatives, Musa said at the official Kota Kinabalu (KK) City WiFi launch here yesterday.

He said ministers such as Senator Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Salleh Said Keruak, Datuk Seri Panglima Maximus Ongkili, Datuk Seri Anifah Aman, Datuk Seri Panglima Madius Tangau, Tan Sri Joseph Kurup and Datuk Seri Rahman Dahlan at least came back to discuss on Sabah development matters.

“This way, we can discuss and negotiate on what is best for Sabah because when the Sabah people support, give their trust and mandate to us to become the people’s representatives in Parliament or state assembly, they want us to be devoted and do our job as they have hoped,” he said.

“Not consulting and meeting is a problem. This is what we have to avoid because we are a big family in Sabah.

“So we must have communication between the state and central government so what is needed by the state, asked by the people can be achieved,” he said.

Musa said the free KK City WiFi project is pegged to transform Kota Kinabalu into Malaysia’s first seamless WiFi enabled Digital Hub and catapult the state tourism industry and digital economy further.
