KUCHING: Youths need to be creative and innovative in running their business to meet the changing times and consumer tastes.

Youth and Sports Ministry Rakan Muda deputy director general R.Affendi Razali said they should consider taking up the foodtruck business which is currently in trend and popular.

“We cannot continue using conventional methods if we want to compete with others. Youths and young entrepreneurs need to find new ideas to ensure their businesses’ sustainability. Foodtruck is one way to go,” he said at the launching of the state-level Business on Truck programme at Medan Niaga Satok yesterday.

Some 10 foodtruckers are participating in the two-day event until today.

Affendi hoped that more people would take up the business as it does not need high cost.

“In fact, the business is mobile and can move from one place to another and it only needs a parking spot for its operation.”

Federal Agriculture Marketing Authority state director Paza Dan was present at the event.
