MIRI: Two musclesmen – Maskabi Kabar and Azri Asmat – outshone other teammates from Miri  to finish respectively as champion in the 70kg and above and runner-up in the 70kg and below categories in the Mr. Kenyalang 2017 competition held in Sibu on Sunday.

Miri Bodybuilding Association Jamilah Ibrahim attributed the success of the duo to their intensive training, discipline and close collaboration with the association.

“Well done to all the athletes from Miri and hoped more musclesmen here will shine in bigger championships, “ she said.

Maskabi was actually expected to win anyway and he is seen as someone with the potential to be a prominent state bodybuilder in the near future.

Jamilah was grateful to Maskabi’s employer who has been supportive of his sporting career.

Azri, meanwhile, is viewed by the association as someone with exemplary conduct who is role model for other young bodybuilders on the rise.

“Both musclesmen are good examples of their disipline and regular training, leading to good results, “ Jamilah added.
