SJK Chung Hua Krokop wins 14th See Hua ‘Dou Meu’ quiz

MIRI: Team H of SJK Chung Hua Krokop emerged champion in the 14th annual See Hua ‘Dou Meu’Quiz Challenge Cup which was held at the Riam Road Secondary School hall yesterday.

Team I of SJK Chung San and Team G of SJK Chung Hua Krokop each took the first runner-up and second runner-up titles respectively; while Team D from SJK Chung Hua Miri,

Team L from SJK Chung San and Team H from the same school were the consolation prize winners.

The champion team received a trophy, medals, RM300 cash and a certificate, while the first and second runners up teams received a trophy, medals  and certificates and cash prizes of RM200 and RM100 respectively.

The three consolation team winners each received a trophy, medals, and a certificate and cash prizes of RM50.

Meanwhile in the individual category, the Miak Pei Sheng of SJK Chung Hua Krokop Team H was the champion, while Lam Zing Yen of SJK Pujut Team B and Chin Jia Jia of SJK Chung San Team A took the first and second runner-up titles respectively.

The champion received a trophy, a medal, a certificate and RM50 , while the first and second runner-up took home similar prizes, except cash prizes of RM30 and RM20 respectively.

A total of 20 pupils from various primary schools bagged the consolation prizes and each pupil received a medal, a certificate and cash prize of RM10.

A total of 39 teams comprising 195 pupils from seven Chinese primary schools here participated in the competition.

The ‘Dou Meu’ Quiz Challenge Cup is an annual quiz competition jointly organised by See Hua Marketing Sdn Bhd and United Association of Chinese Primary Aided School Board to encourage primary school pupils, particularly those from the Chinese medium schools to read more to improve their standard and their general knowledge.

The event yesterday was declared open by vice chairman of United Association of Chinese Primary Aided School Board Lawrence Kong San Hoe who represented the chairman Penghulu Haw Min Wai, assistant principal of Riam Road Secondary School Ling Mee Ging and acting branch manager of See Hua Marketing Sdn Bhd Nicky Chua Chuen Chai.
