KUCHING: The Sarawak State Entrepreneur of the Year Awards (EOYS) 2017 will be presented next Friday (Nov 10) in conjunction with the Sarawak Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (SCCI) 66th annual dinner.
The awards honour and acknowledge exceptional entrepreneurial talent and leadership.
Assistant Minister of Entrepreneur and Small and Medium Enterprise Development Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais said EOYS has given recognition to almost 50 entrepreneurs from across the state since it was established in 2004.
“EOYS aims to recognise the outstanding Sarawakian entrepreneurs, and to become the prime movers that drive the state’s path towards economic growth and Vision 2020,” he told a press conference yesterday.
Naroden said EOYS also aims to recognise the success, commitment and hard work of up and coming entrepreneurs, who have built businesses that contribute to the state’s economy.
“Recipients of this award also have the opportunity to network with business peers as well as have access to valuable media coverage, raising personal and company profiles, and being recognised for the success,” said Naroden.
“In the past, the EOYS adjudicating committee has nominated recipients of the EOYS Awards to represent Sarawak state at the Malaysia Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and entrants have access to a range of events to help their companies to achieve their potential as well as the opportunity to join a group of illustrious alumni.”
