KUCHING: Unimas booked their place in the final of the Kuching Cricket League when they beat Sukma B by five wickets in the semi-finals at Tasudda ground last Sunday.

After winning the toss, they decided to field first on a moist looking pitch which offered occasional bounce and swing throughout.

The Unimas bowlers were spot on with their lengths and did not offer any freebies.

They   did  not  have  to  wait long for the reward as  Kelvin and Eric  departed in consecutive overs after a cautious start.

Twenty-six from Ervin and 22 from Ikmal were the only contributions while others failed to capitalise on their starts and they ended up with 119/7 in 25 overs.

Sukma B bowlers failed to bowl well, probably getting over-awed by the pitch.

After a few wickets fell cheaply in the middle overs, one would have seen an opening but the hosts were hurt by dropped chances.

Unimas will take on Swinburne in the final this Sunday (Nov 11)
