MIRI: A 39-year-old housewife lodged a police report on Monday against her husband for allegedly abusing their son last weekend.
It is understood the incident happened on Nov 4 when the husband, who is a civil servant, beat and slapped the nine-year-old boy due to his untidy room.
The incident allegedly took place in their quarters at Jalan Miri-Bintulu, which saw the boy sustain a head injury after a steel mug was thrown at him.
The suspect is said to be a hot-tempered person who would often cane his son.
Police are investigating the case under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.
