KOTA KINABALU: The second Borneo Imports Meet car expo returns to the State capital this year from November 24 to 26, featuring some 580 imported vehicles from the world over.

Themed ‘Gather Below the Wind,’ the car show will feature various models comprising Japanese domestic market (JDM), continentals, 4x4s and classics, displayed across three levels of parking space at Aeropod Commercial Square.

Co-organised by AF & Crew and Plug Point Creatives Sdn Bhd, the event is dubbed ‘the biggest car meet in Borneo’ with an expected turnout of 6,000 this year, after last year’s overwhelming response.

“We are expecting 580 guests from Borneo itself and we also have confirmed guests from the rest of the country, as well as from Japan and Hong Kong,” said organising chairperson Alan Fung.

Alan, who is also AF & Crew founder, added that the purpose of organising Borneo Imports Meet was not only to gather automobile aficionado, but also to educate the public on car knowledge.

“We hope to share know-how on car care, safety, the do’s and don’ts of car accessories and more. The car is not just a form of transportation but also a work of art,” he said.

Alan hoped that the event would garner positive feedback and exposure of Sabah as a centre of excellence when it comes to cars and accessories.

Apart from the automobile showcase, spaces will also be provided for sponsors and vendors in addition to stalls and food trucks for visitors to patron.

Various fun-filled activites have been lined up including games, contests, lucky draws, workshops and talks, as well as performances by local DJs Rachel B and Jerone Paul.

Tickets to the event are available at an early bird price of RM20 via ticket2u.com.my, with walk-ins at RM30.

E-hailing service Grab will also be offering its services via promo code ‘GRABBIM17,’ which entitles users to a discount of up to RM5 for a maximum of six trips between November 24 and 26, once applied upon booking a ride.
