Stalls open for Sarikei’s Pineapple and Fruits Fest

SARIKEI: Stalls for the division’s signature Pineapple and Fruits Fest began operating yesterday.

The trading stalls along Market Road, Central Road and Kubu Lama Road opened as early as 9am.

Various government agency booths were also in the process of setting up.

The organiser was also seen busily putting the final touches to facilities, especially the main stage for the official launching ceremony, which is expected to be officiated at by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas at 10am today.

Daily events until next Sunday (Nov 26) are Sarikei Agro Digital Village; Sarikei Kitchen; Landscape Exhibition; and Sarawak Bumiputera Chamber of Commerce (DUBS) Bazaar.

There will also be competitions such as futsal, badminton, darts, Iron Lady Cross Fit Challenge, Mr Body Fit, cooking, and children’s colouring.

For the opening ceremony, Rick El is scheduled to perform, while for the other nightly shows the artistes are Nick and Shellac Hung, Shidi (Kumpulan Data), Johnny Aman, and Zamery Amera.
