Miri Beach Run 2017 raises RM12,000 for charity

MIRI: Sii Tuong Jing and Lee Leh Ha emerged as men’s open and women’s open champion of Miri Beach Run 2017 which took place at Beach Republic yesterday.

Second to fifth spots in the men’s open race were Jonnycal Mengok, Steven Wo, Lee Learn Syan and Azamaain Gkmbar respectively.

Lee Siew Shien, Jacyntha Thian, Yvonne Wong and Nicole Nikola finished second to fifth in the women’s open event.

Top five in the men’s veteran were Lee Joon Kien, Lee Kim Hin, Chung Yei Yang, Hii Lik Nguong and Lim Teck Hai.

Winner in the women’s veteran event was Hii Yieng Nyuk followed by Joanna Eng, Lea Asilom, Sia Gonjeng and Sim Siew Ha.

The junior boy’s race saw Clatern Ronan Ho finishing first ahead of Nivelley Billy, Law Jun Ting, Tiong Hua Kwong and Raymong Tiong Hung Wei.

Jennifer Sia emerged junior girl’s champion followed by Kiew Sue Yin, Rachelle, Maz Ween and Siti Zulhijah.

In the Family-Girls Category, the champion pair were Wong Siew Ming and Ivy Ning Chai Yun followed by Yong Pei Ying-Shanice Tang Yu Chen, Goh Ying Fong-Gwenda Eve Freddy, Ting Mee Lu-Chai Khu Ying and Chia Siang Hui-Tone Lau Ngin Ting.

Winning combinations in the Family-Boys Category were Robin Wan Mathew-Celestial Reyes Ho, Masli Eai-Md. Azeezur Izham, Erie Jeery-Ernest Josiah, Joseph Sia-Romeo Sia and Walter Wong Hai Ing-Ronan Sia.

The event, which was organised by Beach Republic to raise fund for Miri Methodist Children’s Home and PDK Morsjaya, was jointly flagged off by Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting and Miri Mayor Adam Yii.

Also present were director of Beach Republic Mabel Law, race director Lawrence Wong, organising chairperson Liew Li Yee, the superintendent of Miri Methodist Chidren Vivian Lo Xing Yen and PDK Morsjaya committee member Dennis Ng.

Cheques of RM6,000 each were presented to PDK Morsjaya and Miri Methodist Childrens Home.
