Desmen Davei

KUCHING: The decomposed body of two-year-old boy Desmen Davei, who went missing from his house at Kampung Ruan Baru, Simunjan about two weeks ago, was found on Sunday some five kilometres from his village.

Simunjan district police chief DSP Zamzuri Mohamad, when contacted yesterday, confirmed that the body was discovered by a villager who was hunting atop Bukit Ruan.

“The boy’s father, Davey John, was informed by a villager who was hunting in the area of the decaying body near a hunting trap around 7pm on Sunday.

“The remains were then taken to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) in Kuching for post-mortem,” said Zamzuri, adding police are awaiting the result of the post-mortem.

It is said that family members believe the remains belong to Desmen based on the shirt he wore on the day of his disappearance.
