SIBU: Police here roped in six men and a woman suspected of causing a commotion in public in front of a coffee shop at Wong King Huo Road about 1.30pm on Thursday.
District Police chief ACP Zalanni Amit said the suspects, aged 20 to 30, will be investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code.
According to him, two groups of people were drinking at a coffeeshop about 1.30pm when a man from one of the groups allegedly took a picture of a woman sitting at another table.
The woman noticed the alleged act, walked over and slapped the man before attempting to take away his handphone.
The man allegedly retaliated by hitting the woman with his elbow, causing minor injuries to her face.
Her friends then rushed over and a fight between the two groups ensued.
Police seized the weapons and sticks used in the fight.
