Public minicab on fire, driver and passengers survived

KANDANGAN, S Kalimantan: A public minicab driven by Ahmad Junailah (36), a resident of Kandangan Kota, South Hulu Sungai (HSS), burned while riding, Antaranews reported.

HSS Police Chief Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Rahmat Budi Handoko, through Head of Public Relations Division First Insp (Iptu) H Gandhi Ranu S in Kandangan, Monday (27/11), said there were no casualties in this incident, both driver and passenger survived.

“The burning of the cab occurred Monday (27/11) afternoon, the driver was driving from Rantau to Kandangan with one passenger,” he told.

On Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Karasikan Village, the driver saw smoke under his seat, then fire seen. Driver and passenger got out of the cab.

The fire was immediately extinguished with the help of fire extinguishing volunteers from the counterparts of Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), National Unity and Politics, HIPTA HSS, Al-Husna and other joint volunteers.

As a result of the incident, the fire burned the inside of the cab, the front seat and rear seat. The fire was estimated came from the fuel membrane under the driver’s seat. The loss is estimated at about Rp4 million.

On the occurrence of the accident, the red Suzuki Carry minicab with the police number DA 1404 K and one vehicle registration document secured by police as evidence.
