MIRI: Three Leo Clubs and two Lions clubs of Miri Mandarin and Miri Hosts joined hands to bring Christmas gifts for 56 children in Miri.
The donation worth RM2,000 for the special children of PDK /Pibakis was to commemorate International Leo Service Day which falls on Dec 5, said spokesperson Diana Yeoh.
“This project was done in collaboration with Parkson (Miri) and the Lion and Leo clubs to thank Parkson Shopping Mall management for giving the opportunity for the public to share and care for the special children,” she said.
Project joint chairpersons Feylyana Elvy Lusen from Leo Club of Riam Road Secondary School, Lydia Asong Warbrick from Leo Club of Kolej Tun Datu Tuanku Haji Bujang and Chua Sing Yii from RIam Institute of Technology said it was a rewarding experience and hard work.
“After several meetings stretching over a month, we spent a whole day shopping and wrapping up gifts for the special children.
“The project was tiring but the thought of the happiness of the PDK children as they open up their presents motivates us to sacrifice our time and energy.
