KUCHING: The Sarawak Sepak Takraw Association (PSS) will be organising the ‘Road to Sukma’ U20 Sepak Takraw Championship at PSS Stadium from Dec 23 to 24 in its bid to look for potential players to represent Sarawak in Sukma XIX in Perak next year.

PSS president Tan Sri Abang Khalid Abang Marzuki said PSS had already identified several players for the state squad but were still looking for the best players to be roped into the team.

“We are quite confident that through this championship, we are able to identify more players who are capable of shouldering Sarawak’s challenge in Sukma and for that reason, the championship will be participated by all PSS affiliates including those divisions who are not yet affiliated to us.

“Apart from that, we will be inviting several clubs who have U20 players which is in line with our mission to look for as many potential players as possible to represent the state in the next Sukma,” he said.

Khalid hoped that the players would display their top fighting spirit, skills and potential which would be assessed and qualify them for a place in the state Sukma squad.

“That is why we are organising this championship with a league format in the preliminary rounds to give opportunity to the players to display their potential,” he added.
