Ditresnarkoba conduct urine test on pilots and crews

BANJARMASIN, S Kalimantan: Members of South Kalimantan Regional Police’s Directorate of Drug Investigation (Ditresnarkoba) conducted urine test on pilots and plane crews in Syamsudin Noor Airport Banjarmasin, Friday, AntaranewsKalsel reported.

“Urine test to pilot and plane crews to determine whether there is content of amphetamine, methamfitamin, marijuana or other addictive substances,” said Head of Public Relations of South Kalimantan Police Mochamad Rifai in Banjarmasin, Friday.

In the examination led by the Director of Drug Investigation Sr Comr Muhammad Firman, 45 pilots and crews for first flights underwent tension and alcohol content (KKP) check and urine test by Health and Medical (Dokkes) of South Kalimantan Police at around 05:00 am.

While at 13:00 pm another urine test was conducted before the second trip flight to 15 pilots and flight attendants.

“The result is all negative or no one is taking drugs,” explained Rifai.

But at the time of examination, said Rifai, there was one Captain of Wings Air IW 1390 Banjarmasin-Kotabaru destination found positive with Amphetamine.

The man admitted before flying had taken cough medicine. Then the second test resulted remain positive until the third test shows the result was vaguely negative.

“After the tests of tension and alcohol by the Port Health Office (KKP) stated negative drugs and coordination between Ditresnarkoba, Airlines and KKP allowed the pilot to fly,” said Rifai.
