MIRI: Following a 3-3 draw in their Liga Bolasepak Rakyat match against Kuching Gedong Gators in Kuching on Saturday (Dec 9), Miri desparately wants to win their next game against Sibu on their home turf.

Miri head coach Mohd Hakimi Man took Saturday’s result positively.

“We are grateful to score one point despite having a good chance of picking up three points yesterday, but the important mission at this time is winning at home,” he told The Borneo Post yesterday.

Hakimi remains satisfied with the attacking flair of his players while regretting the defensive lapses against Kuching.

“We controlled the game well by monopolising the middle part while the attack line actively doing some moves to produce goals,” he said, adding that his team created many chances and scored through Paul Sambang (6th, 75th min) and Ronald Dennis (52nd min).

Despite taking a 3-2 lead, however, he rued “an individual mistake in a heavyweight match” that cost them dearly.

“Anyway, we have to get together to overcome all the weaknesses of the team and support each other. The draw is still good for us as Kuching Gedong Gators has been very strong in their defense with clean sheets not to mention we are playing on the rival’s ground,” Hakimi concluded.

Miri face  Sibu FA at Miri Stadium on Dec 23.
