KUCHING: Maxis continues to expand its 4G network to even more locations beyond key towns in Sarawak.

Customers in the towns of Siburan, Bau, Lundu, Sematan, Bintangor, Kanowit, Julau, Samalaju, Tatau Limbang, Lawas, Mukah, Kapit, Seratok, Betong and Sarikei can now enjoy superfast 4G speed on their mobile phones for surfing and streaming.

This means more Sarawakians are enjoying the best data experience on Maxis’ number one 4G LTE network, which has now reached 89 per cent of the population.

“Why do we insist on 4G expansion? Because I think we are very focused on our customer experience — on a good internet experience. That’s why we expand our 4G network,” Maxis’ head of Sarawak Region Alexius Bong explained during a media luncheon yesterday.

Customers’ data usage also continues to grow. In fact, Maxis’ East Malaysians customers use an average of 12GB per month, higher than the average Maxis customer who uses 7.5GB per month.

On the products side, Maxis recently upgraded all its MaxisONE plan customers with 10GB of data to share, which can be used every day; with more data to share.

MaxisONE Home Fibre was also officially launched earlier this year in East Malaysia, which offers superfast home Internet speeds of up to 100Mbps, unlimited data, voice calls and professional Wi-Fi setup.

For prepaid, Hotlink FAST was introduced in East Malaysia in June this year, offering customers free 8GB of 4G Internet every weekend each month, 1,000 min of free calls to Friendz and free 30GB of Hotlink Happy Hour. Hotlink customers can also enjoy 999GB of free fast Facebook every day.

In addition to launching new products and services, Maxis also continues to expand its retail footprint to better serve customers. In 2017, Maxis opened 10 new hybrid stores in Sarawak, covering Kuching, Sibu, Kota Samarahan, Lundu, Lawas, Limbang and Mukah.

“All these is to enhance our support, our commitment to the Sarawak community and to enrich the customer experience of those with Maxis,” Bong added.
