Missing disabled man found safe inside farm drain

KUCHING: A disabled man disappeared from his house in Padawan on Sunday evening was found safe at a farm yesterday morning.

The 36-year-old victim, identified as Rameo Sakok, was located by search-and-rescue (SAR) personnel weak and shivering inside a drain at the farm, said Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) state assistant operations director Tiong Ling Hii.

He said Rameo went missing from his house at Kampung Assum on Sunday which led to a police report being made at Siburan police station around 7pm that evening.

“After being notified of the missing person, we launched a SAR operation this morning (yesterday) and located the victim at 8.48am.

“He was found safe, but was weak and shivering,” said Tiong, adding Rameo was subsequently sent to Sarawak General Hospital for a checkup.
