MIRI: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Telang Usan branch will support any candidate fielded by the Barisan Nasional to contest Baram parliamentary seat in the next general election.

Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau said as a part of Barisan Nasional (BN) component party, they would not interfere with the selection of candidates.

“We (PBB) respect each other and we have never interfered with the selection of candidates by BN component parties during elections,” he said yesterday, adding that the incumbent Anyi Ngau from Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) would likely be retained.

Three state seats under Baram parliamentary seat are Marudi which belongs to PDP, Telang Usan (PBB), and Mulu (PBB).

According to Dennis, they and other BN components would help one another to ensure victory for the BN in this forthcoming election.

As for their campaign strategy, he said they would go house-to- house or face-to-face to get their message across to the voters.

“We will also do a walkabout programme to explain to the people of the many development the BN government has brought, and the many more to come.

“We recognise that campaigns through social applications such as WhatsApp are faster, but sometimes authentic information can be twisted around by certain parties.”

Dennis also said that Telang Usan PBB had proposed that all top posts in the party (PBB) be not contested at its triennial general assembly next year.
