KUCHING: Damai Golf and Country Club (DGCC) will host the Sarawak leg of next year’s Asian Development Tour (ADT) championship organised by Professional Golf Malaysia (PGM) on Sept 12-15.

“It is indeed an honour for us to be selected once again to become the hosting venue in Kuching in 2018 after the success of staging this year’s event at DGCC on Oct 5-7,” SGCC general manager Roslan Mohd Salleh said during the club’s 21st Staff and Anniversary Dinner held recently.

Another upcoming event which is expected to attract golfers from outside Sarawak is the inaugural Damai Masters Golf Championship 2018. The tournament is aimed at providing an avenue for local golfers including juniors to compete against peers from other states and overseas.

“One of the many positive feedbacks that we had received from golfers all over is that our course is both challenging and is still playable even during wet weather as what they had experienced during this year’s PGM MNRB Championship which was hit by rain for two consecutive days but still their game went on according to schedule,” Roslan said on overseas visitors.

He also thanked the club’s top management and staff for the support as the club “is fast moving forward to achieve its aim as one of the top local golf venues” for members and visiting golfers.
