KUCHING: The final list of the Sarawak squad for the new season will be known by the latest on Jan 10.
This was disclosed by Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) president Dato Posa Majais on Thursday when interviewed on the matter.
“We will be announcing the final list of Sarawak players for the Malaysia League campaign 2018 before or on Jan 10.
“With the full squad in order, we will be having a pre season playing tour where we shall play against several teams in Semenanjung Malaysia from Jan 12 to 18,” he said.
According to Posa, FAS has already identified three teams as sparring partners, namely Felcra at UM Field on Jan 13, UiTM at UiTM Field on Jan 15 and Felda United at BSN Bangi Sports Complex on Jan 17.
He said the three warm-up matches was vital to test the teamwork and understanding of the team especially the new import players.
Apart from that, the friendlies are also aimed at assessing the abilities of the players as well as looking at the weaknesses that needed to be overcome before the Malaysia League kicks off in February.
Sarawak will commence its campaign in the Premier League this season starting on Feb 2.
