TUARAN: The Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism recently compounded three premises for allegedly manipulating prices of gas cylinders and weighing scales here.
A spokesperson for the ministry said the operations were carried out near Kampung Selupuh and Kampung Serusup here following complaints received from the public through the ministry’s official Facebook page.
The three premises were found to have allegedly changed the price tag on several gas cylinders and weighing scales.
One of the premises owners was compounded under the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011, while two others were compounded under the Weights and Measures Act 1972.
The ministry reminded all traders to comply with the rules and regulations as it would not hesitate to take stern action, the statement stated.
