KUCHING: A man, 54, charged with committing incest on his own daughter four times maintained his innocence at the Sessions Court here yesterday.
The accused, who is a labourer, appeared before Dayang Ellyn Narisa Abang Ahmad who adjourned the case to Jan 15 for further mention and submission by the prosecutor.
The accused allegedly committed the offence in Nov and Dec 2015 and in January and February last year at their rented place in Jalan Pending here.
The daughter was only 12 years old when the alleged incidents first occurred.
All the charges are framed under Section 376B of the Penal Code, which provides a jail term of up 30 years and whipping upon conviction. The accused appeared unrepresented while DPP Haresh Prakash prosecuted.
