SANDAKAN: Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Haji Aman has clarified that the financial allocation for the road construction in the Kampung Rancangan Sungai Luboh area is from the Ministry of Regional and Rural Development (KKLW) and not the State Government.

Musa said the approval for the allocation was given by KKLW Minister Datuk Ismail Sabri, after he (Musa) and Libaran member of parliament  Datuk Juslie Haji Ajirol met and briefed him on the need for funds for the Kampung Rancangan Sungai Luboh road.

Reportedly, an application for an allocation was made by Juslie to the former KKLW minister, but no approval had been granted.

“I explained that the allocation for the road construction in Rancangan Sungai Luboh is from the KKLW and not the state government.

“An application was made by our MP to the minister at that time but no approval was given. But now with the change in the minister of KKLW, he (Ismail Sabri) has approved the allocation,” Musa said.

Musa added that if the funds from the Federal Government through KKLW was forthcoming, he promised to provide funds from the State Government for the development of the road.

“I make this promise that if the funds from KKLW is not forthcoming, I will provide funds from the State Government, but give us three to four months to build the roads here,” Musa said, when addressing the Semarak Unity Leadership event held at the village hall of Kampung Rancangan Sungai here, yesterday.

Also present were assistant minister of Local Government and Housing cum Libaran Umno vice chairman, Datuk Zakaria Haji Mohd Edris, Libaran MP Datuk Juslie Ajirol, Libaran Umno Wanita chief Datuk Armani Mahiruddin and Libaran Umno Youth chief Rizan Azis.

Meanwhile, Musa, who is also Sungai Sibuga assemblyman, said the construction of the road from Kuala Gum-Gum to Tanjung Semawang would benefit the people in this area.

“In addition, we also have other roads being developed besides the road from Kuala Gum-Gum to Tanjung Semawang that goes through this area. Upon completion, it will benefit the people in this area,” he said.

Musa said the Barisan Nasional (BN) government is obliged to provide assistance or allocation to bring development for the benefit of the people.

Earlier, Musa visited the Sungai Luboh district polling centre to check on its preparations and readiness for the 14th general election.

At the same event, Musa also handed over school bags and school aids to 175 pupils and wheelchairs to six senior citizens and disabled people in the area.
