KUCHING: Outgoing Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth chief Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof was tight-lipped when asked if he would contest for a senior vice-president’s post during the party’s convention next month.

Fadillah, who has stepped down as PBB Youth chief to pave the way for younger members, said he had not been nominated to contest at present.

“We will see that (whether to contest or not). We will see that when the time comes,” he told reporters after attending the PBB supreme council meeting on Friday.

Fadillah, who is Works Minister, added, “It is still very early.”

During the post meeting press conference, PBB president Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg also declined to disclose whether Fadillah would contest for the post.

However, Abang Johari did point out it is normal for party members to eye higher posts.

Meanwhile, Fadillah said he hoped the new youth chief and team would continue with PBB’s legacy of friendship and struggle, as well as support the party’s leadership to help bring greater development to the state and give the best service to the people.

He thanked party members, especially supreme council members and youth members, for their solid support during his time as youth chief.

Fadillah was first elected as PBB Youth chief in 2007.
