TAWAU: Eight thousand of the 15,000 units of 1Malaysia Civil Servant Housing Project (PPA1M) in Sabah have been implemented to ‘gather’ and ‘integrate’ all civil servants of various races under one roof of residential home for the sake of friendship, brotherhood and unity.
Nationwide, the government has targeted 200,000 units of PPA1M, Chief Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan said, adding that it was one of the Barisan Nasional government’s initiatives to provide an opportunity for the people, especially the civil servants to buy a house with government subsidy.
“This shows that the BN government is always committed in helping the people, including the civil servants to own a house during this challenging economic climate and high property prices nowadays,” he said.
“All civil servants are therefore reminded to work hard and support the government in developing the country,” Nizam, who is also the vice-chairman of Tawau Umno division, said during a press conference after launching the Third PPA1M project named D’ Bayan Fruit Garden at Institute Memandu Cemerlang (IMC), Jalan Damai here yesterday morning.
Also present were the project manager of Visa Suria Holding Sdn Bhd, Suhaimie Datuk Haji Sulaiman and other invited guests. The project is undertaken by the company in collaboration with the Prime Minister’s Department.
D’ Bayan Fruit Garden, to be developed at Mile 8, Jalan Apas here, will be the first affordable housing project based on the tropical fruit garden-residential concept in Malaysia.
Haji Anwar Yeo Abdullah, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Visa Suria Holding Sdn Bhd, said PPA1M D’ Bayan Fruit Garden was one of the government’s initiatives to provide affordable houses for government staff by giving out a subsidy of RM60,000 for each unit while the developer would also provide a subsidy of RM20,000 for each unit.
The project is expected to be completed by end of 2019.
Anwar said D’ Bayan Fruit Garden would consist of limited 203 units of single-storey terrace houses which would be planted with about 400 local high grade tropical fruit trees around the residential park such as durian, rambutan, mango and many more.
The market price for each unit of single-storey terrace house nowadays is about RM368,000 but those at D’ Bayan Fruit Garden are priced at just RM288,000.
This offer is not only limited to the government servants, the government pensioners and staff of statutory bodies.
D’ Bayan Fruit Garden residential is situated at a very strategic location with nearby schools, shop lots, night market, Shan Shui Golf & Country Club, Bandar Sri Indah (BSI) and the Tawau Airport. It is easily accessible by public transport along the Pan Borneo Highway which will be constructed soon.
The features and advantages of this residential are guarded and gated system, 24-hour CCTV, exercise track, high ceiling in living room, two points of shower heater sockets, four points of air-conditioning sockets, modern design and so on.
The house built area is 1,200 square feet and the lot will start from 2,000 to 4,000 square feet. A house will be equipped with three bedrooms, two washrooms, one dry kitchen and one wet kitchen.
According to him, they already have 70 per cent of bookings recorded by noon yesterday and the place is still limited.
He hoped this tropical fruit garden-residential concept residential wojuld enable the residents to enjoy facilities like a clubhouse and they will share the fruits for free.
