KUALA LUMPUR: Microsoft has announced that the new Surface Laptop will be available for pre-orders in Malaysia from local Surface authorised retailers which include top retailers and official Microsoft store.
Starting from RM4,499 and to be officially launched in the market on February 7, 2018, the Surface Laptop balances portability, performance and elegance, and is more than just a traditional laptop.
According to Microsoft Malaysia’s press release, the laptop will be powered by Windows 10 S. It is engineered to start fast and stay fast with a 7th generation Intel Core processor and up to 14.5 hours of battery life to last through the day.
At just 1.25 kilogrammes and less than 14.5mm thin, the Surface Laptop is lightweight and mobile enough to be carried around.

For those seeking to showcase their individuality, Surface Laptop is available in a rich tone-on-tone Platinum colour.
The signature keyboard is covered in luxurious Alcantara material and features a quiet and responsive keyset, large precision trackpad, and soft palm rest for a new level of typing comfort.
Every detail is crafted to bring new form and function to the classic laptop design. The vibrant 13.5-inch PixelSense Display is optimised for touch and inking for an immersive experience, and the optically bonded Corning Gorilla Glass makes it as durable as it is beautiful. The Surface Laptop will also support the new Surface Pen and Surface Dial off-screen interaction.
Shipping with Windows 10 S, a new Windows experience streamlined for security and superior performance, Surface Laptop starts up and runs faster with InstantOn and an OS optimised for sustained performance.
With Windows 10 S, applications that are downloaded from the Windows Store are first verified for security, and then locally run in a safe ‘container’ to ensure that Windows 10 S offers the power of full-featured applications.
Customers pre-ordering the Surface Laptop can also be able to enjoy some exciting offers. Up for grabs is the JBL T450BT Wireless On-ear Headphones and a 1-year subscription to Office 365 Personal, on a first-come first-serve basis, while stocks last from January 10 to February 6.
Surface Laptop and Surface accessories will be available at Surface Authorised Resellers in Malaysia. Surface Laptop prices will range from RM4,499 to RM12,399 while Surface accessories range from RM249 to RM459.
