KUCHING: The Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) recently hosted a dinner for 27 officials from Tourism Melaka, who were here for a three-day study visit.
The delegation, led by general manager Norena Jaafar, had the opportunity to visit various tourism attractions, including the new Darul Hana Bridge at Kuching Waterfront.
“We were particularly impressed with the bridge over Sarawak River, especially its lighting at night,” she said.
She added Tourism Melaka hoped to emulate some of Kuching Waterfront’s product experiences and activities.
Norena added Tourism Melaka plans to visit Kuching again in July for the Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF).
The Melaka delegation, including dancers, also visited the Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV) to learn traditional local dances, which they hope to incorporate into their performances in Melaka.
STB chairman Datuk Abdul Wahab Aziz said the board was excited to welcome Tourism Melaka to Sarawak to experience and learn more about the state.
“This is the beginning of our working relationship, which we hope will continue as part of efforts to promote domestic tourism,” he said.
