KOTA KINABALU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has urged the Barisan Nasional (BN) members of the state to not leave any stone unturned if they wish to win the next election.

“We must keep doing our best. Our job will only be finished when the people have casted their votes. We have to see how we can improve ourselves,” Najib said during a reception dinner with the members of BN Sabah at Sutera Harbour Resort tonight.

If BN wants to win in the next election, each member must contribute to the party, he further added.

He contended that BN had proven its good track record due to various factors, such as, the stabilisation of Sabah’s politics, the peace and harmony enjoyed by Sabahans, the transformation of Sabah as a whole and the tightening of its security measures.

“We do not want anything less than 22 out 25 parliament seats for Sabah and we do not want less than 48 out of 60 state seats for Sabah,” he added.

He further asserted that the people should trust BN as it is a ‘consistent’ party and not the opposition, which had been rather ‘persistently inconsistent’.

He contended that the opposition tends to blindly give out promises while the BN government simply delivers.

Najib also took a jibe at Pakatan Harapan’s Prime Minister candidate Tun Mahatir Mohammad, whereby he questioned how the 92-year-old is supposed to be a ‘face of the future’.

“I do not have to say anything else, you can figure it out yourselves,” he said.

Najib also said that it is important for the BN members to identify who are the persuadable voters, the young voters and the undecided voters in the next election.

On the issue of the Malaysian Agreement 1963 (MA63), Najib assured the people of Sabah that he is willing to give back anything that might have been taken away from Sabahans.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman asserted that each party machinery from each state will be further strengthened to prepare BN Sabah for GE14.

“If we want to win, we must have the right mindset. We must know the way to win, we must have the mentality to win and we must act to win,” he said.
