KUCHING: A man was arrested by police for vehicle theft during an operation carried out in Batu Kawa here on Saturday.
Padawan police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan said the suspect, aged 38, was nabbed by a task force team in front of a shop there around 1.30pm.
“Police also seized a luxury four-wheel-drive vehicle, believed to be stolen as it bore fake number plates,” he said when contacted yesterday.
Aidil said the suspect went on to confess his plan to drive the stolen luxury vehicle to the Tebedu-Serian border.
The case has been classified under Section 379 of the Penal Code for vehicle theft.
