Exercise regularly to stay healthy, advises Piasau assemblyman

MIRI: Members of the public are encouraged to spend between 10 and 15 minutes each day for exercise to ensure they keep a healthy lifestyle.

State assemblyman for Piasau Datuk Sebastian Ting said ‘health is wealth’ and regular exercise could ensure that one stays healthy.

“Spend your time doing exercise, walking or jogging so that our body can remain healthy,” Ting said after visiting the one-day health screening programme organised by Diabetes

Association of Malaysia, Miri branch at Old Men Street, here yesterday.

“We hope more people will be aware of the importance to have their health screened regularly, including checking their blood glucose and blood pressure,” he said.

Diabetes Association of Malaysia Miri branch chairlady Ting Chiew Mei was also present.

She said the programme was an ongoing activity of the association to help people, especially the elderly, remain healthy.

A large crowd of senior citizens were present to participate in the health screening.
